Get to know me…
Hi, my name is Gina and I’m from Pasadena, California. In August 2024 I decided to move to Las Vegas to pursue a career in sports entertainment. I was hired as a Gameday Entertainment Representative for the Raiders, where we helped coordinate the halftime shows, National Anthem and other presentations that go on throughout the game. While the job was a great experience, it was only seasonal with very little pay. I needed something more that would help me pay the bills and live comfortably.
By the time my season with the Raiders came to an end, I found two more seasonal jobs. One as a Gameday Rep for the Vegas Thrill pro volleyball team and another as a pool server for a hotel downtown. Thrill was perfect for me to grow within the sports entertainment industry but once again very little pay and the work was inconsistent. Once I started my gig as a pool server, I was optimistic about the pay and was hoping I’d make enough money to cover my rent and car note. But because it was a union job, they scheduled the servers based on seniority, and as the newest server I wasn’t getting any shifts. As I went on my 4th week with no work, I decided to build a blog.
Essentially, this blog is just a creative outlet for me to practice my writing, storytelling and marketing skills. I graduated from USC with a journalism degree, so I figured I might as well use it. But I also want it to be a space for my readers to learn, grow or hopefully try something new in their life. I want my readers to leave my page feeling inspired, excited and curious about life. So welcome to my world, I hope you like it here.
